Caburn Telecom provides Busby with cycling safety features.

Far more people will be cycling and walking thanks to plans to boost greener, actve transport, launched in May 2020) by Transport Secretary Grant Shapps.

Pop-up bike lanes with protected space for cycling, wider pavements, safer junctons, and cycle and bus-only corridors will be created in England within weeks as part of a £250 million emergency actve travel fund – the first stage of a £2 billion investment, as part of the £5 Billion in new funding announced for cycling and buses earlier in the year.

In order to support the plans to boost greener transport and encourage a healthier lifestyle, Caburn Telecom is providing all its employees and family members a safety cycling app Busby, a mobile app that offers features such as incident detecton, incident preventon, by alertng other road users to your whereabouts, and easy to use near-miss reportng. If a user is involved in an incident, Busby gives them 30 seconds to move or respond. If there is no response their locaton is sent to emergency contacts so help can arrive quickly.

The Busby app now has users in over 24 countries, 6 contnents and has already saved three lives to date.

Partnered with What3Words and St John Ambulance, if an incident occurs the user’s locaton is sent using an exact 3m x 3m locaton anywhere in the world. If the user is stll conscious, they will also be provided with the St Johns Ambulance 10 safety steps to ensure they are in the safest possible place whilst help is on the way.

Busby also rewards cyclists for staying safe and currently offers discounts on brands like Muc-Off, Craghoppers, Blacksheep, Giant, QuadLock, Selle SMP, Altura, Limar, Giro, Bikmo and Pedal Sure insurance.
